The Moon Caused It
People waste too much time
ranting and complaining on social media.
One person decided to rant that her life has taken the same path as predicted in her horoscope.
There is nothing wrong with believing in astrology, but
people need to think before complaining on social media. Otherwise, they can look foolish.

All In The Pocket
My cell phone often gets turned
on by accident while in my pocket. Today, it went to a new level.
I accessed a ticket website and was shown options to a National League baseball game. It even got
down to a view from the seats.
You
never want to buy something by accident. I will never understand why this happens so randomly.

The Annual Fires
The wild fires in California
are terrible with the loss of life and property. It happens every year. Nothing ever changes in this regard.
During several of my trips out there, I saw the first-hand
destruction of the fires, especially at Yosemite National Park and Malibu.
No part is ever safe.

Construction Forever
When I drove up Rt 93 to Manchester,
NH last night, I encountered a big slow down over my last three miles to the Rt 293 exit.
They are widening the road and part of a long term project
over the next few years.
I
should seek alternative routes off Exit 5 to get to Manchester.

Just A Rumble
Weather can change real fast,
especially when thunder and lightning are involved.
When I went out for a run today, the sky was getting darker. A torrential rain soon started. It felt
nice on this hot and humid day.
Things were going fine until I heard the rumble of thunder in the distance. I decided to cut my run short
as the storm was getting closer.
The sound of thunder turned out to be just that, but you can never be careful enough around lightning.

A Time To Flicker
Lights bulbs never last as
long as they are intended. You never know when the bulb might die.
It happened earlier today when I turned a light on in my living room. The bulb flickered for several
seconds before I shut the light off.
When I flipped the switch again, it was gone. I'm not sure how many hours I got, but I'm sure it was less
than what was stated on the box.

Bad News For The News
The New York Daily News has been struggling to compete against
the Post and Times. Competition is good, but it might be too much for the tabloid.
They announced a newsstand price increase and slashed 50% of their staff. The extra revenue will
help, but the quality of the product will continue to suffer.
It might only be a matter of time when it comes to the paper's survival.

Duck Boat Fiasco
I have never been a fan of
the Duck Boat tours. The recent incident in Branson,MO is a disgrace.
So many bad decisions were made that resulted in the deaths of 17 passengers.
There has been talk about banning them. That's not a bad
idea. You couldn't pay me enough to go on one.

The Cheap Charger
Whenever you get something free or at a cheap price, it's
probably not the best stuff.
I
was happy to receive a free portable cellphone charger. It's actual value was around $6.
It's nice to get something for free, but this is not the
best charger. The battery wears down very fast and discharges my phone.

Let's Just Open The Store
My community has several Facebook pages. I monitor them,
but I would never post a comment because people go off the rails when they disagree.
Someone mentioned that we should have an arts and crafts store. That is a no-brainer, but who is
going to open it and where?
People
have no clue of the business process. The whole idea is to make a profit and not lose money.

Just A Temp
I had a major problem accessing
this website last night. I spent about 90 minutes on it between my own efforts and calling customer service. They even gave
me a help ticket number.
After
not hearing back all day, I called and finally spoke to someone who walked me through a temporary fix. Other work needs to
be done on their end.
The
person I spoke to said that there had been some glitches recently in accessing the websites in the administrative mode by
the owners.
No kidding.

Moving To Another Spot
Once Canadian Geese find a spot they like, it is very hard
to get rid of them. They love to hang out by water on golf courses.
When I played golf today, the flock had moved about 100 yards to another hole. They had been in the
same spot for about 20 years. I wonder what happened.

Lightning Will Do It
Today's thunder and lightning
created a lot of havoc with cell phones and the Internet.
I had problems with my phone and wifi at home. The lights flickered a few times which was sign of
what was going on.

They Must Smoke
People throw litter wherever they feel like putting it. They assume that someone else will
pick it up. Those who litter have no regard for others.
I thought it was very odd that someone threw three empty packs of cigarettes to the ground of my
gym parking lot.
I wonder
how many members use tobacco products.

The Day Of The Week
I had two parties yesterday.
It's hard to believe today was Sunday. It felt like Monday. What will tomorrow feel like?
It all merges together at some point.

The Infamous Virus
Last night, I had one of my
worst computer issues. I wasted almost three hours trying to connect to the Internet before I went to bed.
I kept running virus scans and more agressive options, but
to no avail. Things were fine this morning.
I have no idea what caused this. It was so random.

No Duck Tours
I never understood the hype about the Duck Tours in Boston.
I have never been on the amphibious vehicles.
They are very popular with tourists in light of their ranking of 8th for things to do in different
cities according to a travel business website.
I think they are overpriced. If I got a free ticket I would consider doing one, but I'm all set otherwise.

Shark Time
There was a story in the news
today about the dangers of trying to feed or swim with sharks.
I don't think it's a good idea to be doing anything with them, but that's just me.

Back To The State
The Massachusetts State Lottery
does a great job distributing money to cities and towns from the revenue they generate.
The majority of the cash goes back to the players. Some
prizes are never claimed and end up in the state treasury.
Some want this to change and give the money back to cities and towns. I understand their point,
but unclaimed prizes have always gone back to the state.
No matter what, the money will be spent.

No Video Games
I think the Olympic Games serve a real purpose, but cost
too much to hold. They always lose money for the host site and country.
It was very strange to see that video games might be a competitive event in the future.
I understand the need to market the Games to a younger
audience because they will be the ones who watch them.
Video games don't belong there. It's not in the spirit of the Games.

Spire Not Missing
When I was in Boston today, I tried to see the restoration
work being done inside the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. However, it was already closed for the day.
It's a very impressive structure dedicated in 1875. One
thing that stood out was that it looked like it was missing one of its twin spires. I thought it may have been removed at
some point.
It turns
out that it was in the original plans, but never built.

Annual Fires
It doesn't matter what year it is. There are always fires
raging out in California during the summer. It's no different in 2018.
People around Santa Barbara are facing a big threat. Some have already lost their homes.
There is no guarantee in California that fire will not come
to the door.

No Free Parking
The MBTA is an agency that
is drowning in financial losses. It has always run at a deficit ,while providing a critical service of public transportation.
They recently raised the rate at their parking facilities.
Many users are quite upset as they are already paying enough and want free parking.
This will never happen. Their best hope is to keep the increases down.

When I logged into this website

I hope it's only temporary. It was not any type of improvement.

Pick & Wash
I don't think you should eat
unwashed fruit or vegetables. I frequently see people nibbling on grapes at the market.
Someone posted a picture on Facebook of their kids picking
strawberries at a farm and eating them. People do the same thing when picking apples.
It's not a good idea.

Hours In The Ocean
It seems like people are always
falling off cruise ships. It happens much too often.
A recent news story told of a cruise line employee going overboard and treading water for 22 hours
before being rescued by a passing ship.
How does anyone tread water for 22 hours?
He has quite a story to tell.

Piling On
I will never understand why athletes jump on top of each
other to celebrate. It looks like a very easy way to get injured.
One of the recent highlights of the World Cup coverage was the huge piling on by several players
from a winning team. The guy on the bottom had over 1,000 pounds on top of him.
It must have been hard to breath.

Falling On The Belt
Freak accidents hurt and kill people all the time. So many of them are senseless.
It's all about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A
driver in Brooklyn, NY was critically injured yesterday when a tree branch fell and struck his car. It pierced the roof and
impaled his body through his abdomen.
It happened at 7:45am as he drove along the Beltway. It was such a random act which nobody could have predicted
or prevented.
